Josie Edie May is a singer songwriter, storyteller and metaphor manipulator. She paints words with honesty and vulnerability, crafting releases ‘with an unmatched emotional depth and intelligence’ - Existental Magazine. 

Born and raised in Suffolk and now currently living in Essex, Josie has always been inspired by the countryside she grew up in. Josie writes of her own experiences, others, and also writes from the perspective of fictional characters.

Storytelling is at the heart of everything the songwriter creates, it’s her language and way of communicating. Josie is influenced by pop, folk, and country and is inspired by artists such as Maggie Rogers, Nina Nesbitt, and Jenson McRae.

Josie Edie May’s newest release ‘Clumsy Perfectionist’ is a stripped back, acoustic folk fuelled song that showcases the songwriting. Josie Edie May is exploring a more organic, honest sound, with exciting new projects in the works.
