The lyrics describe the transition from the cheery chaos of Christmas to a quiet, long January, which can often feel unmotivating and still. ‘Tale Of January’ is stripped-back, acoustic fuelled storytelling and scene setting.

In the year 2022, Josie Edie May wrote a song about each month, writing an album that tells a chronological story of the year. The ‘Tale of January’ is the first instalment. Tale of January is for the thought daughters, poets and otherthinkers - a song to start the year off reflective and introspective.
